We are an Equal Opportunity Employer Seeking to fill: 1 Full-Time Post-Secondary Summer Student Position - HERITAGE EXHIBIT COORDINATOR NOTE: Student must be presently enrolled in a recognizable full-time school program and returning to a full-time Post-Secondary program in the fall of 2018.
QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of Microsoft Computer Programs: Excel, Word, Photoshop and Internet EDGE...Strong Oral and Communication Skills, Self-Motivated & Team Player. Studying in the following fields (an asset): History, Indigenous History, Heritage and Cultures
Summer Work Term: May 19 to August 31, 2018 - Wages $13.25/hr - 40hr/wk (Including some weekends) Responsible for opening and closing the Museum and maintaining the Museum giftshop, Collecting admissions, operating and balancing of cash register, Receiving tourists and giving guided tours of the building and exhibits, Assisting with our Canada Day Fundraiser, Updating "Comment" card system, Organizing archival documents, preserving documents for easy handling and viewing. Organizing and taking inventory for our new display of our co-founder Jean Louis Légaré's Trading Post including preparing bilingual informaion. Assisting in our ongoing documentation of all our artifacts, both recording and digitizing, General maintenance of the museum and performing all other assigned duties as required on a day to day basis.
ALSO SEEKING - 2 Part-Time Seasonal Employees - Must have Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs & Internet Edge, Strong Oral & Communication Skills, Self-Motivated & Team Player, Bilingual and asset but not a requirement Summer Work Terms - May 19 to September 15, 2018 -16 to 24hrs/wk. Wages - $12.00/hr
Welcoming tourists and giving personal guided tours, sharing the diverse multi-cultural history of our community and area. Sharing the responsibility of the day to day operation of the museum and gift shop. Collecting admissions and gift sales, operating and balancing of the cash register. Facilitating tours and taking bookings, answering telephone. Assist with organizing and preservation of archival documents for easy and safe viewing by our tourists. Assist with the organizing and taking inventory for our new display of our co-founder Jean Louis Légaré's Trading Post including preparing a bilingual information board. Assisting in our ongoing documentaiton of all our artifacts, both recording and digitizing Assist with our Canada Day fundraiser. Updating "comment" card system and report to the museum board any issues or concerns that the museum will have to address. General maintenance of the museum and performing all other assigned duties as required on a day to day basis
